New Café Plans Unveiled for Former Ena’s Site on Sandy Row
BelfastSouth has shared plans for a proposed new café at the former Ena’s site on Sandy Row.
The plans outline a bright, accessible and practical café space designed to support local people, encourage connection and provide a new place to meet in the heart of Sandy Row.
The new café forms part of our wider commitment to bringing positive use back to local spaces and creating welcoming places for people across the area.
As part of the wider project, the building is also expected to add three affordable apartments to the area. This reflects our commitment to supporting local regeneration, improving unused spaces and creating long-term benefits for the community. As the plans are still being developed, further details on the apartments are not yet fully confirmed, but we will share more information when available.
We held a public information day on 20 May, from 3pm to 6pm, giving local residents, businesses and community partners the opportunity to view the proposed plans for the café, share their opinions and ask questions about the project.
The event was advertised across our social media channels to encourage people from the local area to attend, learn more about the plans and have their say.
While the project is still in development, the proposed opening date for the café is currently expected to be March 2027. This date may be subject to change as the plans progress.
We look forward to sharing further updates as the project develops, including progress on the site and future opportunities for the local community to get involved.

The plans are still in development, and all feedback received will help inform the next stages of the project.
